Green Day 2022!

Today, 6^th July is Green Day and schools in Essex have been asked to make a pledge to do something positive for the climate. 

For Green Day, Friar's Grove have been challenging our pupils, parents, and staff to help reduce energy used both in school and at home.  The following newsletter https://sway.office.com/Gydlb2kvZiHosnWT?ref=Link 

offered ideas and tips to families as to how to do this and we also held an energy saving assembly on Green Day to remind everyone in school about the importance of saving energy. 

We tasked our pupils to make signs and posters to put around school to make our school community more energy aware.  Our pupils produced some beautiful work!

 

In addition to the above, we have introduced a sustainability swap shop and encourage our parents to help themselves to good quality second hand uniform.

 

We encourage our parents and pupils to walk, scoot or cycle to school and have a large shed to house pupils’ bicycles and scooters.
