We had a whole school assembly on the playground, for our act of Remembrance. Mrs Shipp talked about what Remembrance meant and then we showed brilliant respect by standing in silence for 2 minutes, thinking about all the things that people have done in the past to keep us safe. Then some children showed the work that had been completed for Remembrance. We had poppies from year 1, paintings and a poetry study from year 3, War Horse sketches and poetry from year 5 and moving diary entries from year 6. Well done everyone, for your fabulous listening in assembly and your wonderful work!
Year 4 were lucky enough to visit St Fillans Care Home and join them for their act of Remembrance. They took some beautiful painted stones and banners made by year 2 and some lovely poppy pictures and poetry work. The different generations were able to stand for 2 minutes silence together and the year 4 children treated the residents to some wonderful singing. A lovely experience, enjoyed by all!
